Authorities of Warri South Local Government Area in the early hours of Saturday rushed to Ogbe-Ijoh Market, Warri, following a fresh inferno that engulfed the market over the night leaving no fewer than 100 shops razed.
The inferno, which came barely seven months after similar incident occurred in the market, completely burnt down properties and wares worth millions of naira.
The traders, who were yet to recover from the loss during previous fire outbreaks in the market, were in utter grief and still counting their losses when the Vice Chairman of Warri South Local Government, Mrs. Divine Iniovosa and Secretary to the Local Government, Mr. Joseph Oribioye, dashed to the scene on the directive of Warri South Chairman, Hon. Michael Tidi.
